Code of Conduct.

Middle East Investor Network (ME-IN) — applies to all ME-IN events

Our standard

ME-IN events bring together senior professionals from across the investment community. The quality of that community depends on how we treat one another. This Code of Conduct sets out the standard of behaviour we expect from every attendee, speaker, sponsor, partner, and member of our team — without exception.

Our events take place across the GCC, a region with its own distinct legal and cultural norms. We take those seriously, and we expect you to as well.

What we expect

Everyone at a ME-IN event is expected to:

  • Be professional. Engage with others courteously and constructively. Debate is welcome; disrespect is not.

  • Be respectful of local norms. Our events are governed by the laws of the host jurisdiction. In the UAE, this includes the Public Decency Law (Federal Law No. 4 of 2020). In Saudi Arabia, General Entertainment Authority (GEA) guidelines apply. Smart, conservative professional attire is required at all events.

  • Respect confidentiality. Unless otherwise stated, sessions operate under the Chatham House Rule: content may be shared, but not attributed to named individuals or organisations without consent.

  • Protect intellectual property. Presentations, research, and materials shared at our events remain the property of their owners. Do not reproduce or distribute without permission.

  • Comply with data protection obligations. Any personal data encountered through attendance, networking, or sponsored activities must be handled in accordance with applicable law.

What is not acceptable

The following will not be tolerated at any ME-IN event:

  • Harassment, discrimination, or intimidation of any kind — including on the basis of race, gender, religion, nationality, disability, or sexual orientation.

  • Verbal or physical abuse, threats, or aggressive conduct towards any person.

  • Behaviour that disrupts sessions, panels, or networking activities.

  • Unauthorised recording, photography, or live streaming of any session or attendee.

  • Unsolicited commercial solicitation or distribution of materials by non-sponsors (suitcasing).

  • Any conduct that violates the laws or cultural norms of the host country.

Reporting a concern

If you experience or witness behaviour that falls short of this standard, please speak to a member of the ME-IN team on-site, or contact us directly at hello@me-in.com. All reports are treated in confidence.

We will not dismiss concerns, and we will not penalise anyone for raising them in good faith.

Consequences

Breaches of this Code will be taken seriously. Depending on the nature and severity of the conduct, consequences may include immediate removal from the event without refund, notification of the relevant authorities where legally required, and exclusion from future ME-IN events.

ME-IN reserves the right to make the final determination on any conduct matter. Our decision is final.
